01Kosovo business registry
The core details of every business (name, business number, legal form, owners, authorised persons, activities and status) come from the public data of the Kosovo Business Registration Agency (ARBK). Staff counts, business size and foreign or women's ownership come from ARBK's open data (arbk.rks-gov.net/OpenData).
02Overture Maps
Some phone numbers, email addresses, websites and social media pages come from Overture Maps places data. In Kosovo most of it comes from businesses’ Facebook pages.
Overture Maps Foundation, overturemaps.org. Data from Meta, under the Community Data License Agreement Permissive 2.0 (CDLA-Permissive-2.0). CDLA-Permissive-2.0 licence
03Businesses’ own websites
When a business has a website, we read the contact details it publishes there itself: phone, email, address, opening hours, social media links and logo.
04Finding and researching businesses
We actively look for businesses and research their public presence to build more useful profiles. We gather details about what they do, where they operate and how to contact them from their websites, public business pages and social media profiles.
05Email and direct communication
Businesses can share information and corrections with us by email or through direct communication. These submissions help us complete and update business profiles, including contact details, services and opening hours.
06Business and user contributions
Business owners and users also help build Kerko. Owners can claim their business profile and update its information, while users can suggest businesses, submit missing details and request corrections. These contributions complement our research and public data sources.
07How we check it
We review proposed additions and corrections before applying them. For details collected through automated research, an administrator reviews each suggestion, and only empty fields are filled; information entered by the business owner is preserved. Information can become outdated or contain mistakes, so profiles may need further updates.
If you spot a mistake, the business owner can claim the profile and change it, or you can request a change from the business page.
